Something to consider: It is rare that stolen credit card information (from internet, cell phone orders or actual 'hands on' card swipe use) will appear the same day it is compromised as it is too easy to trace. Turnover for Stolen cards is about 7 to 14 days

||||| CREDIT CARD COMPANIES know the patterns of abuse today - oftem before the holder does, notifying the customer in advance.

||||| MOST ROSARY WORKSHOP CC DECLINES:

We are grateful that most DECLINES we receive here at the Rosary Workshop are simply a matter of numbers issued incorrectly by card holder. This would include 1. cc number 2. expiration date and 3. last three digits of secure code on back of card.

3. DELETE CARD INFO: As an extra precaution, all card numbers are deleted off the secure site as soon as they are printed off for your protection. CC info is shredded after use uneless customer requests it remain in their files for future use.

This is because we are the 'rosaryworkshop.com' and the SHOPPING CART, 'store.rosaryworkshop.com', exists within the parent site, rosaryworkshop.com site. The Rosary Workshop will work with you the best we can on the return of parts and finished products (rosaries, chaplets, jewelry). But it is important the customer knows and understands we are unable to process any returns older than 30 days by giving credit on credit card purchases . We do allow in store credit on some items.

||||| WHY ISN'T YOUR SILVER MARKED 'STERLING'? HOW DO I KNOW IT IS REALLY STERLING? Pure silver is too soft so it contains 92.5% silver (sometimes marked '925') and a small amt of copper (7.5% )is added for strength. This is called STERLING.

All our metals are hand cast from Antique or Vintage pieces in either Sterling Silver or Solid Bronze then antiqued to restore original patina. Original ages may date back to the 15c and more recent pieces are from public domain, which means there are no signs of artist signatures or trademarks.

||||| DOES YOUR BRONZE CONTAIN LEAD? No. There is no lead in our bronze pieces. It is basically brass and does contain copper and tin, which makes it BRONZE.

||||| CASTING PROCESS: The casting process reproduces exactly what it 'sees'. The original may be any metal from pot metal to aluminum to a precious metal. If it is cast from a silver piece that is marked, even the bronze will carry this mark. Some originals may show wear which gives them a loving history. But guaranteed to add rare beauty to your pieces. We hope you enjoy!

||||| - SOME METALS DARKER THAN OTHERS?: great ideas! (Jan/26/Thu/2012 @ 18:44:48pm)
||||| - ABOUT OUR HAND CAST METALS

Several casters do our work. Antiquing formulas, oxidation processes and even metals may respond differently and may not be the same. Since this is out of our control, we try to match up sets as much as possible. We have included some hints below:

||||| - MATCHING METALS FROM OTHER SOURCES:

Quite often items purchased from the Rosary Workshop are matched up with items purchased from another source. You may note that BRONZES may either be more 'red or copper' or more 'yellow', depending on metal content. SILVERS may be more 'blue' or have a 'yellow' cast. (This has to do with the mix of the metals before casting here in the US and also in various countries.)

||||| - TIPS ON CLEANING:

Some of these differences may be overcome by using the following suggestions:

--- POLISHING CLOTHS: Use polishing cloths for household items such as silverware to remove oxides. Jewelers and Jewelry suppy companies also sell solutions and cloths for professional use that work beautifully.

--- STEEL WOOL: Use a very fine steel wool (0000 or finer) to take off environmental or applied oxidations. This will also matte the surface making it less shiney. Remember, these items are cast from antiques and many are worn from love and prayer - they look better with a matte finish, especially the silver.

--- COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS: Household products may work, items such as clorox or ammonia, etc. Always test first, as some will actually darken surfaces. but metals are strong! (PJ Nichols adds: 'I used the CAMEO POWDER FOR COPPER AND BRASS CLEANER. It worked great on my brass medals.'

--- TOOTH PASTE: Try brushing toothpaste on surface to clean. some say this works very well.

--- KETSUP: Cleans copper and copper is in bronze, try it!

--- SALT AND LEMON JUICE: For inspection, my husband used a rag with salt and lemon juce to polish his brass or bronze belt buckles etc while at the Naval Academy to pass inspection.

--- BAKING SODA: Make a paste and polish your silver with a cloth or toothbrush or fingers!

||||| - ANTIQUING SURFACES:

Sometimes the call is to darken the surface of metals, and when metals do not match, tossing them both into a common antiquing solution works wonders. This helps to make items closer in color, especially rosary sets (remember, a slight difference should not be a problem because the beads that separate them do help make a difference.


--- BOILED EGGS: We have not tried this but have been told that if you put your metals in the water while boiling shelled eggs that it will antique silver.


--- ANTIQUING SOLUTIONS:

Purchase antiquing and oxidizing solutions from a jewelry supply store such as Rio Grand on the internet. - (Always follow mfrs instructions as some solutions are toxic or poisionous.) We then suggest you polish or clean the surface using the suggestions above. (Do not use around children).
