||||| WHY ANTIQUE BEADS? There is something about the color of beads from the pre WWII period that makes these beads unrepeatable today. The beads you see in the rosaries and chaplets below are from Gablonz, Germany, Czechoslovakia, Austria and Japan. (1860s - 1960s) Perfect for those who prefer a rosary that is rare and collectable.

||||| HAND PRESSED FROM GLASS MOLDS: One of our Czech venders told us that most of the beads available now were individually hand pressed in glass molds from 1920s through the late 50s early 60s. After the war, new techniques were developed and the mass production of beads began. Old glass cane is still available and many beads are still being hand pressed by older beadmaking guilds and families.

||||| SOON TO BE GONE: Sadly, these antique and vintage beads are disappearing quickly as the reserves are used up. Many have been discovered recently in construction sites where they were buried during WWII for safe keeping. The Jewish people traded beads for centuries and one has to wonder, as victims of the war their secret hiding places were lost in time. Also we are told that as the older generations of bead makers die, their families are selling off their private bead collections to jobbers as they venture into a more state of the arts world. These beads are rare and you will never see them again when gone.

||||| ROSARIES, CHAPLETS and JEWELRY: All are designed by and for the Rosary Workshop Museum Gallery Shop. We specialize in rare antique beads, semi precious stones, pearls and other hard to find beads.

||||| METAL PARTS: All crosses, crucifixes and religious medals are hand cast from antiques and vintage pieces in sterling silver and solild bronze then antiqued to restore original patina. The Rosary Workshop is the sole retail distributer on the internet for these handcast parts.

||||| STRINGING INFORMATON: We use a supple but very strong, state of the arts wire (49 strands of plied stainless steel, covered in a smooth surfaced nylon) on all rosaries, chaplets and jewelry. Each piece is made for generations of use. If under normal wear there is a need for repair, there will be no charge.
