PERE MARQUETTE II – CHAPLET OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION:
BEADS: 8mm Antique matte black beads are mixed with Silver Leaf Jasper on this rosary. The black symbolizes the black robe of the Jesuits and the Jasper of the stones found along the coast of the lakes, especially Superior, the area Marquette traveled in the late 1670’s.
MEDAL: 1900 / MIRACULOUS MEDAL CENTER – Europe/late 1800’s – early 1900’s – (2 in.sans ring)
CRUCIFIX (OPTIONAL CHOICE): PLAIN CRUCIFIX – antique, Italy/1910’s – (2.1 in.)
The original Chaplet of the Immaculate Conception was developed by St John Berchmens SJ. Father Marquette moved his devotion to the Virgin Immaculate using a similar configuration. The Rosary Workshop is in the Marquette Diocese (UP MI) and recognize the importance of these prayers for our nation as they are more personal for America.

MEDAL OF THE IMMACUALTE CONCEPTION (Miraculous Medal) was given to Saint Catherine Laboure on November 27th 1830 by the Blessed Virgin Mary, herself. She asked Catherine to have a medal struck of the image she gave her so that her children could wear it around their neck. She assured her they would receive special graces. So may prayers were answered that it became known as the Miraculous Medal The reverse side has a cross coming up from an M. The 2 hearts are below, one on either side (Sacred Heart of Jesus and Pierced heart of Mary, and is surrounded by 12 stars. The front of the medal pictures Mary with her arms out stretched and framed in the following words
Mary, conceived without original sin,
pray for us who have recourse to thee”
