Description
ST FRANCIS CROSS: One of the most beautiful and traditional St Francis crosses we have seen. Smaller than most. This one is somewhat worn with love and has a history. Note Fleur De Lys on each of the 4 ends of the cross. Lettering on back is worn but traditionally is the prayer of St Francis to Brother Leo:
“May the Lord bless you and keep you. May He show His face to you and be merciful to you. May He turn His countenance to you and give you peace. The Lord bless you, Brother Leo.”
SIGNATURE SYMBOLISM: Also note (under the blessing) the ‘Tau’ cross with something below. This was Francis’ signature. The cross pierces the head of a skull (Adam) in his grave. Remember, the term ‘Golgatha’ was history before Christ was crucified there. Tradition had it that the skull of Adam was buried there. St Francis’ signature confirms Christ’s death and resurrection overcame the sin of Adam.
Part of our Samsara Collection.
