MARIA AGREDA EBONY WOOD: Dedicated to the LADY IN BLUE

AVE BEADS: Exotic wooden beads. Sor Maria was so pleased with the wooden pews in the new convent chapel she was responsible for furnishing and this is a small reminder of her delight. The all in one design has been used here to honor the rosary she wears around her neck which was typical of the period.

PATER BEADS: Natural wood. (Part of the history of her apparitions tells of rosaries she gave the Indians who in turn baffled the Friars when they arrived seeing them carrying prayer beads.) A traditional wooden rosary using a two sided Spanish 18c crucifix, possibly earlier. The reverse carries the traditional image of Mary and Child.

CHAPLET MEDAL:  MIRACULOUS MEDAL – antique, Latin America/unknown – (1.5 in.)

Designed in the tradition of the times. The rosary has no pendant. It carries the normal 59 beads. This overall design is also traditional for the period ‘All in One Loop’.

ABOUT OUR MEDALS: All our medals are handcast from antiques and vintage pieces in sterling silver and solid bronze then antiqued to restore original patina. The crucifix used on this rosary is from Agreda’s Spain and from the same time frame (17th to 18th c). Two sided, the reverse has Mary and child, which was again typical of crucifixes of the period.
