GREEK ORTHODOX ‘TREEN’ ICON CRUCIFIX: A magnificent icon cross from Greece. Thick and powerful with two sides. Thick because earlier ones from the 1700s were carved from wood. OBVERSE: Crucified Christ surrounded by saints. REVERSE: Mary holding the Child Jesus. We found this one in a dusty box in an antique shop in Augsburg Germany a few years ago who dated this one 1840 or earlier. Design dates back to the early 1700s or before.

ABOUT OUR MEDALS: All medals on our site are hand cast in sterling silver or solid bronze from antiques and vintage pieces then antiqued to restore original patina.
