HER LIFE: Saint Hildegard of Bingen, O.S.B. (German: Hildegard von Bingen; Latin: Hildegardis Bingensis) (1098 – 17 September 1179, aged 81), Bingen am Rhein, County Palatine of the Rhine, Holy Roman Empire. She was also known as Sybil of the Rhine.

DOCTOR OF THE CHURCH: Hildegard of Bingen has been recognized as a saint for centuries in the Catholic Church, although historically sketchy at times. On 7 October 2012, Pope Benedict XV named her a Doctor of the Church. This completed a time of unknown history as a saint.
