BIRTHSTONE: JANUARY SKY

AVE BEADS: 8mm Small Rudraksha seed beads in medium brown.

PATERS: Rare Garnet Slabs. Larger mined chunks of translucent Garnet have been sliced to show their rich beauty. Sides are naturally shaped as is the overall bead, which adds to the smooth, cut surface of each slab. Irregularities add to this rare and beautiful bead. Note the surface appears cracked but this does not weaken the bead. It simply becomes a texture along with the inner, somewhat clear radiance of the stone. Dark in appearance, when the light catches the inclusions, deep garnet red comes forth in unexpected places.

CRUCIFIX: LG BYZANTINE CRUCIFIX – vintage/unknown – (2 in.)

Rosary is made in the traditional “all one loop” design without a center piece.

AMERICAN GEM SOCIETY: The stones used here represent the ones designated by the American Gem Society in the 1930’s. (the original 12 stones carried vague names, some of which were generic, others named after the place of origin (Turquoise / Turkey) We also note that different interpretations of scripture are not consistent in names and placement.
