(the original 12 stones carried vague names, some of which were generic, others named after the place of origin (Turquoise / Turkey) We also note that different interpretations of scripture are not consistent in names and placement.

ABOUT CHRYSOPRASE: Chrysoprase is in the family of chalcedony, a fibrous form of quartz. Due to its comparative scarcity and pleasing green color (may range from apple green to dark green), it is one of the most prized varieties of quartz. The higher grades often rival fine jade, for which it is sometimes mistaken. It carries traces of nickel which adds to its coloration. It is found in Queensland, Western Australia, Germany, Poland, Russia, Arizona, California, and Brazil.
