LA VIRGIN NINA/ROSARIO: A precious medal of the child Mary, a devotion that is very strong in Latin America. She points to her Immaculate Heart. Reverse Congregacion De La Virgen Nina Instituto Rosario Villa Maria. Not much is known about the childhood of Mary (see The Protoevangelium of James) and also the writings of Sor Maria Agreda (Mystical City of God). Other devotions of the child Mary are Little Mary, Holy Child Mary (Maria Bambina.) A beautiful devotion for young girls.
ROSARIO ARREVILLAGA: This particular devotion may date back (late 1800s) to a mystic by the name of Rosario. She spread interest in the child Mary and built a beautiful temple in honor of the Virgin Child She also founded a congregation of sisters and a refuge for orphans. She had a childlike faith and was devoted to the rosary.
The child Mary presented at the temple is subject of many famous artists including Gaddi.(b. 1300, Firenze, d. 1366, Firenze)
