AVE BEADS: 8mm Faceted jasper (Peach Flower – Japan).

PATER BEADS: Garnet stone chunks each one very different from one another.

MEDAL:  OUR LADY of ZARAGOZA – (Apparition to St James) – Spain / 1790 – 1850 – ( 2.25 in. )

Rosary is made in the traditional “all one loop” design without a center piece.

ABOUT ZARAGOZA: Believed to be the earliest apparition of Our Lady, traditionally dated 40ad. So few know about this apparition of Mary to Santiago, who we now know as St James the Great. She give him a message from her son, Jesus, wishing him to build a temple (chapel) in Zaragoza (Spain). The little 15 in. Zaragoza statue of Mary is carved from wood and sits on 6 foot pillar of marble.

RARE AND BEAUTIFUL MEDAL READS: OBVERSE: says ‘N.S. DEL PILAR D ZARAGO’, Our Lady is surrounded by two kneeling figures. These figures are believed to either be pilgrims visiting the holy site carrying their belongings in a knapsack on a stick, or St James and St Bernard. REVERSE: shows Santiago (St James the Greater). St James is now the patron saint of Aragon.
