MARY IN THE ROSARY MEDAL (MADONNA IM ROSENKRANZ) – original is carved from limewood by master artist Tilman Riemenschneider (1521 – 1524). It is 9 x 6 feet and hangs in the Chapel of St. Maria in Weingarten Chapel (Volkach am Main), Germany.
VISUAL AIDS IN THE ARTS: This style art is also found in drawings of the period to teach those who could not read how to pray the rosary.
