Description
EVANGELIZATION CRUCIFIX: This crucifix, well worn from age has a history if only it could talk. Crucifixes like these were brought to New Spain (Latin America) by the European explorers in the 1500s. On board their ships were Franciscans and Dominicans who came to evangelize the indigenous people. They brought with them many sacramentals including primitive crucifixes, probably mass produced in Spain to be given away. A very nice solid piece.
Part of our Equatoria Collection.
