AVE BEADS: 8mm deep ruby red faceted “turban” beads with granite ends work well to give an older look to the rosary.

PATER BEADS:  We used the same bead only in a 10mm.

EARTH FROM CALVARY

The Holy Cross at Jerusalem was built around the year 326 to house the relics of the passion which were brought back from Jerusalem by Emperor Constantine’s mother, (Empress) Saint Helen.  She also brought back earth from Calvary, the place of the crucifixion of Jesus in Jerusalem.  It was spread on the grounds of her palace in Rome and the basilica was built on top of this earth which gave it its name.
