Description
GALWAY CRUCIFIX: When we found this crucifx we had no idea of its historical value. While visiting the Hunt Museum (Limeric Ireland) we discovered this crucifix was called the Galway Crucifix and the Spanish influence became clear. A strong support system and trade route between Ireland and Spain during the Penal times was the link. The tubular construction allowed the beaded string to pass through, terminating at the bottom of the cross with a large bead and tassel at the end. (We added the bail)
