GREEK BALANCE WALL CROSS: A unique cross to decorate any wall in your home. The Greek Cross, with arms of equal length, is the most ancient cross, predating the Latin cross. In Christian mythology, the four equal arms point in the four direction of the earth, representing the spread of the gospel or the four platonic elements (earth, air, water, and fire). Its origins are not Christian, but much older, found in many cities in Mesopotamia. A perfect gift for a Baptism, Confirmation or any occasion.

ABOUT THE MONASTERY OF MARIA LAACH: For over 50 years Maria Laach has offered religious cards, icons, and bronzes of high quality. There are about 80 Monks, assisted by Lay people in the production of these works sold all over the world. The grounds of the Monastery are also a sign of their large agricultural business. Their more recent works include gates and garden art. Our visit in 2007 gave us an incredible sense of this very blessed community.
