AVE BEAD: Individually hand made in Venice (early 1900’s) A Popular ‘drawn’ (Rosetta) bead used for trade in Africa and popular with the North American fur traders from the 19c on. Rare and beautiful, no two alike, in their blues, and terra cotta browns. A small rosary, well designed for the pocket.

PATER BEAD: 10mm Simple wooden beads, often seen on a priest’s rosary.Black matte beads used as spacers.

A Spanish knight from a Basque noble family. He became a priest in 1537. He was a theologian, and was the first Superior General of the Jesuits which he founded.
