ORIGINALLY ‘BASILICA APOSTOLORUM’ (4th century – Basilica of the Apostles)

AVE BEADS: Beautiful faceted 8mm deep moss green to light blue beads from Czechoslovakia in a design called “Cathedral Windows” with granite ends given them an heirloom look. Pressed from the design of old glass bead molds. Very fine quality.

PATER BEADS: Faceted light blue “turban” beads from Czechoslovakia with antiqued bronze caps. Very elegant

ANCIENT TRADITION: GOOD OVER EVIL
This ancient basilica was dedicated to St Sebastian, a 3rd century Roman martyr. The first church was built in the 4th century over several pagan tombs which was the custom and symbolized good over evil. It was originally named ‘Basilica Apostolorum’, (Basilica of the Apostles.) during the time of Constantine. It was renamed in the 9th century and is the burial place of St Sebastian
